An exciting, new urban hub
Chews Lane has always been a place of business. Its founder, John Chew, one of Wellington's first great entrepreneurs established a successful timber yard there in the 1880's. Ideally located, Chews Lane Precinct will provide a vibrant heart to the already flourishing Willis Street Retail area. Its heritage buildings are testament to its constant evolution. And now, the proposed new mix of retail opportunities will provide the environment in which the many people already moving through the area will want to meet and dwell longer, creating activity throughout the day.
Chews Lane Precinct will house 90 apartments, approximately 600 office employees, numberous leading retailers, a 200 bay carpark and a large number of residents. This on-site customer demand will be complemented by the large number of adjacent offices and residents in the immediate vicinity of the Lane.
It is expected that Chews Lane will become a unique hub for the city - linking the city and the sea - and be a great place to visit and relax.
- The morning coffee fix

A complementary mix of retailers in an exciting urban setting with all the ingredients to create Wellington's own characterful urban hub.
